We are your Independent Farm Practice serving Helston, the Lizard Penisula and surrounding areas
How It All Started
Roxie has worked in Cornwall since graduating in 2018. After several years in mixed practice, she spent time locuming across the UK, gaining further experience, skills, and knowledge. She brought this expertise back to Cornwall and founded Amethi in October 2023.
Having worked in a wide variety of practices, Roxie had a clear vision for what she wanted to create. Her aim was to restore the community-based, personalised approach to farm veterinary services that has gradually been lost in recent years. As an independent practice, Amethi can offer a flexible and tailored service, adapting to the individual needs of each farm and client.
Just nine months after opening, the practice had already built a strong and growing client base, making it the perfect time to recruit a second vet. Alex joined the team, bringing further experience and support to the practice. On the two-year anniversary of Amethi’s opening, with the business continuing to grow and thrive, Rachel joined as the third vet, completing Team Amethi.
The Name
Amethi comes from the Cornish word for “farm”, reflecting both our deep roots in the Cornish countryside and our commitment to being a truly farm-focused veterinary practice.
At Amethi, we are passionate about caring for all farm animals with no limitations on species or size of farm. We believe that working within the farming industry is not just a job, but a way of life. It is a lifestyle our team values deeply and is proud to support within the local community.
Who We Work With
At Amethi all farm species are welcome, from sheep and cattle to goats, alpacas, and everything in between. Whether you run a large commercial unit, manage a smallholding, or keep livestock as pets, we are here to support you.
Our team works closely with clients to understand the specific needs of each holding, while always prioritising animal health, welfare, and sustainable farm productivity. Continuity of veterinary care is central to our approach, and we are passionate about building long-term relationships with the farms we serve.
Where We Cover
Amethi is, and always will be, a small, close-knit team working within the local farming community. Based in Helston, we cover both Helston the Lizard Peninsula as well as the immediate surrounding areas.
By keeping our coverage area manageable, we can ensure that we are never far away when our clients need us. If you’re unsure whether you fall within our area, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we will be happy to discuss it with you.
